The possibilities for this type of technology are unlimited. As OLED lights are further developed, they are expected to be integrated onto a variety of surfaces and situations. They are also lightweight and emit little heat, making them far different from conventional lighting.

Brighter With Better Viewing Angles

OLED technology is turning up everywhere. OLED technology is used in mobile phones, smart phones, televisions, digital cameras and portable digital media players. They are easy to read in sunlight and have a low power drain. These qualities make OLED appealing for mobile devices.

Flexible signs and OLED lights are also being developed. Phillips Lighting made OLED lights samples under the brand name of Lumiblade. These OLED lights are sold online. OLED desk lamps called Victory are made by Novaled in Germany and were introduced in 2011. As OLED lights become more evolved through research and development, the residential market will expand.
